This is the type of ball with which the Kenyan kids play. They wad up lots of plastic grocery bags then tie them all together like shown. Really ingenious!!!

We met these kids along our hike in the hills above Tenwek. That stick has a wheel on the end and they roll it along with water bottles hung the length of the stick. Everyone carries these jugs around to get fresh water for the day. That is a full time job, keeping up with the water. In all of the guesthouses and residences in Tenwek we collect rain water. We boil it then run it through a filter. It is a full time job making sure you have enough water for the day.

Jackels (donkeys) are used all the time to help transport things from one place to another.

Alex's friend along the hike. The proud recepient of the paper clip chain and the cobra stick. He hiked the entire time with us.

In the distance you can see the circular thatched hut. These dot the hillsides and are very picturesque. They are open inside with a cooking fire.

So glad to see your updates! They give faces to those we're praying for. So thankful that God knows their names and hearts, though we don't.
We're so thankful for all you're doing for the people there. Thankful for all you've done for our family!
May His name be praised!

Hi Susie!
Mary reminded me about your blogsite this morning.
She is in Nashville for blood tests and starts a new treatment next week. Sounds upbeat and is again sending funny e-mails.
