We apologize it has taken so long to write, but the computer here in Kenya is fairly slow and does not work at times. We hope things are going well over there in the states despite the economic meltdown -- things are very simple here at Tenwick Hospital. The people are very friendly and the staff is very helpful even though the communication barrier does slow things down a bit. Susie has been homeschooling in the morning and then the boys play hard in the afternoon. There are many children running around -- mainly children from missionary families. I round early in the morning then do cases through the day. I have a student and an intern. There is also a family practitioner helping. The death rate of babies is fairly high due to protracted labor (women labor in the villages for days). The delivery rate is also very, very high. We hiked the countryside today with another local missionary family and had a great time meeting the local people. Alex had this huge walking staff made from an old banana leaf, we call it the cobra stick, and also a chain that he had made from paper clips and rubber bands. On our hike this little boy began walking with Alex and he hiked thie entire time (an hour), keeping the cobra stick and the paperclip chain. The local children also liked Sam to take their pictures then show them what he had taken on the LCD panel. That really impressed them. Donkeys are everywhere and cows just walk up and down the road. Most people walk for hours to get where they are going. We have hired house help three days a week to cook and clean for us. She charges 264 Kenyan shillings/ day. Based on the exchange rate, that works out to $4 / day. She walks two hours each day to work for us. Her English is very good and she has made homemade bread everyday. Today we had chicken curry wrapped in this little pancake tortilla thing that was awesome! We took many pictures and look forward to sharing them. Please continue to pray for us and for the people here including the missionaries and there families.

It's so awesome to hear your updates! That food sounds yummy- that's so cool that you can bless that lady by providing her with a job- and I know y'all enjoy having her there to help out, too!
We pray for you daily & look forward to hearing all about it when you get back!! Angel is doing great! Her favorite spot is between Cate & Lily in their bed!
Love you! Give the boys a big fat kiss from their Aunt Cindy!!
